On Sunday morning July 20th, the Chesapeake Spokes Cycling Club showed up to do their usual Sunday morning “recovery” ride. But this Sunday was different. There was a professional photographer on hand to capture all of the action. Harford Magazine, part of the Baltimore Sun Media Group will be featuring the Chesapeake Spokes Cycling Club in their upcoming September issue. The staff reporter had previously interviewed Neil Buchness, Club President, earlier in the week for his thoughts on cycling in Harford County. They wanted to get some pictures of Spokesters (Chesapeake Spokes Cyclists) to go along with the story.
The President put the call out to the club to show up on Sunday and they answered with almost 40 riders and even a tandem. It was a great turnout as 38 cyclists streamed out of the Campus Hills Shopping Center to ride a 24 mile loop through the quiet back roads of Harford County. The weather even cooperated as there were some light sprinkles earlier in the morning, followed by cooler, partly sunny skies.
Keep your eye out for the upcoming September issue of the Harford Magazine! To join the Chesapeake Spokes Cycling Club go to the store page and fill out the online application. It only takes a minute.
